I was looking at buying A20's but I've seen this headset fail 5 different people in flight in a year. The ProFlights remain fiddly and not quiet enough for me in a 737 (in the MAX they are ok.) I guess I was being naive but I was hoping after 13 years for a Bose QC3 sized folding headset that was as quiet as the A20s but I guess that just isn't possible yet. If I was buying a new headset today, yes, I would buy the A30s but I won't be upgrading my A20s anytime soon and I am notorious for always getting the latest and greatest so that says something. What the A30's don't have: they don't have quieter ANR after 13 years! they aren't lighter, they are heavier! people seem to feel the materials feel cheaper and some speculate won't hold up to the same abuse as the A20! they aren't smaller in volume or fold so they take up the same amount of space in your flight bag! less clamping force so in theory should be more comfortable on a long day, the ability to reduce the ANR if you feel it is too strong (in a loud Boeing like the 737 this is useless), and the wizz bang feature that allows you to pass through sound of a Flight Attendant talking without un-cupping an ear (although this worked poorly on a set Bose Proflights I tried and un-cupping is so easy!) From everything I can see the A30 have very few advantages. I've worn the A20's for 13 years now in a 737.
